Hi Imed,

Thank you for your questions. I've listed each of your questions with my responses. More information on these responses can be found in the Integration for DocuSign eSignature module reference guide. One thing to keep in mind is that some answers vary depending on which method you decide to use to upload documents. When uploading documents from the OnBase Client, you must have documents and signature locations fully configured prior to uploading. When uploading documents from the Unity Client or using the Upload to DocuSign Workflow action (in conjunction with the Suppress Signer Notification Emails option), you are not required to have documents and locations configured; documents can be uploaded as drafts and configured through DocuSign. It is important to note the ability to upload documents as drafts was added with OnBase 14.

For ad hoc uploading through the Unity Client, a document is uploaded as a draft when not enough information is included on the document to send the signer notification email (e.g., it is missing a value for the Signer Name Keytype or has not been configured for use with DocuSign).

For Workflow uploading, using the Suppress Signer Notification Emails option within the Upload to DocuSign action allows the documents to be uploaded as drafts.

Question: How to add signature to PDF multipage document in Docusign Signature Location?

Answer: When configuring signature locations in the OnBase Client, select to view the sample document. From the OnBase Client toolbar, use the Previous Page and Next Page buttons to navigate the document. This allows you to specify signature locations on pages after the first page. If these buttons (pictured below) are not on the toolbar, customize the toolbar to add them.

This configuration is not required if you decide to upload the document as a draft through Unity or Workflow. Uploading as a draft allows you to apply locations to subsequent pages through DocuSign.

Question: is there a way to apply DocuSign template for a document instead of "OnBase Client - DocuSign location"?

Answer: There is currently no way to apply a DocuSign template directly through OnBase. If the document is uploaded as a draft in the Unity Client or from Workflow, you are able to edit the document through DocuSign. This allows you to incorporate DocuSign features you wouldn't otherwise have access to through OnBase.

Question: how to sign a document by multiple users such as senario the signing of contracts by company officials (CEO, CFO)?

Answer: This is accomplished by configuring more than one signature location for a document. Before configuring the Document Type for signing, ensure the Document Type has available Keyword Types to assign to the Signer Name Keytype and Signer Email Keytype for each signature. For example, if you would like to configure documents for two signatures, you would need to have a total of four different Keyword Types assigned to the Document Type that in turn could be used for the Signer Name Keytype and Signer Email Keytype for each signature.

Again, if you are uploading a draft through Unity or Workflow, this is not required (though it may be helpful in streamlining a particular process). You can upload the document and configure the locations as desired through DocuSign.

As mentioned above, more information on configuring locations and uploading documents can be found in the Integration for DocuSign eSignature MRG. I hope this helps. Have a great day!

Joe, can the same document be sent to DocuSign separate times for signatures? For instance, signer 1 signs, the document returns to OnBase, x keywords get added, the document goes back to DocuSign for signature 2, then comes back to OnBase, more keywords get added, and then goes back to DocuSign for signature 3? (OnBase 14)

Hello,

Unfortunately, once you upload a document to DocuSign, it cannot be uploaded again. You can configure the document for multiple signers, and from within DocuSign, you can configure a specific order for the signers by clicking the To field (while configuring the signatures on the document).

Starting with OnBase 14, after uploading documents to DocuSign from the Unity Client, you can edit the documents—including using the functionality I mentioned above—in DocuSign without leaving OnBase. For more information on this functionality, see pg. 12 of the OnBase 14 Integration for DocuSign eSignature module reference guide.

I hope that helps.

Have a great weekend!
