DocuSign was Declined, unable to resend document through the integration

The DocuSign integration refuses to allow me to resend a document when it was declined for signature. In this case, the document was declined by the other party due to a missing page. I can modify an existing envelope or void it, but once it is in a declined state, I cannot send the document again. Is there a way to treat a declined state as a voided state?

To add to the conversation, we recently made changes to the integration to handle Envelopes with a Declined status better.

In short and as you have also described, the issue was that once an envelope is declined in DocuSign, the envelope is updated in the OnBase DocuSign Administration Pending Envelopes list with a “Declined” status. At that point you are unable to void the document and the envelope will remain stuck in the pending list.

NOW, Declined envelopes will be moved to the Completed envelopes list.

When the status of the envelope is polled and returns with the status of Declined, the envelope will be automatically moved from the Outstanding Envelope list to the Completed Envelopes list in the DocuSign Administration portion of the Unity Client. This is a terminal state for the envelope in DocuSign so the documents would need to be resent under a new envelope if resending is needed.

These changes were made in 24.1 and backported to 23.1 and 22.1.

As far as DocuSign is concerned, a "declined" envelope is a "voided" envelope.   DocuSign doesn't allow resends on voided envelopes, which is why the integration will not let you do that.  If you try to void in OnBase, it should give you a message stating it can't be voided, essentially because it already is.

I'm not sure what your process is or what you mean by treating it as a "voided" state, but the Rule in studio that checks for DocuSign status includes an option for "Declined" that can be used to move the document(s) forward in your workflow.  If this doesn't completely answer your question, can you post more details on what you're trying to do with voided/declined envelopes?
