Hi.

Does anyone knows the purpose of the following folder on WebApp server ? (PROD)

C:\inetpub\logs\LogFiles\W3SVC2

This folder's size is 14GB and we ran out of space once, so I was wondering if we can delete them and stop the creation of the .log files. Here is the content of those files:

Hi Marek,

Thanks for your post.

These files are the IIS logs and are outside of OnBase.  They report information about connections made to the respective Web services.  You can find a bit more information in the following post (link).  In the post is a link to a script on Microsoft TechNet which will remove the files after 90 days.

Take care.

We had a similar issue. I set up a batch file thast executes daily from a scheduled task.  It will purge any files older than 30 days.  Here's the code.  Jay

REM The .log files in the C:\Inetpub\logs\logfiles\W3SVC1 are IIS logs and
REM need to be deleted or they will fill the C: drive. Keep 30 days only.

forfiles /P "C:\Inetpub\logs\logfiles\W3SVC1" /S /M *.log /D -30 /C "cmd /c del @FILE"
