Upload vs. Retrieve/View Rights

Is there a way to create a new Document Type that enables users to upload but not have the ability to retrieve/view the documents?  If so, how do I do this?

A workaround, is having the scanners/uploaders scan and then index into one doc type, that goes directly into workflow, and changes to a different doctype that the user do not have any access to after the batch is commited

Hi Cathy,

This can be done using Override Privileges at the either the Document Type or the User Group level. This will allow you to override the default User Group privileges.

This can be found in the following locations:

Config | Document | Document Types | <Select Document Type> | User Group | <Select User Group> | Override Privileges

Config | Users | User Groups / Rights | <Select User Group> | Document Types | <Select Document Types> | Override Privileges
