Unity API targeting .Net Core

I recently completed the API training certification and have the dll files for the Unity API targeting .Net Framework 4.5. I have a custom API which is built on .Net Core 2.0, I am building, which encapsulates multiple software APIs utilized for software products purchased and used by our company. I tried adding those dll files into the project, set to copy always and references them in the project. I was able to create objects such as the all important Hyland.Unity.Application object. Unfortunately these Hyland dlls depend on old .Net Framework dlls, the one offender in my case is System.Web. I tried copying the System.Web dlls into the project and copying to the output directory, but it still produced the error that it can't find that particular dll. From what I have read, Microsoft does not plan on adding that namespace to Core and so it would be great if we can get a more modern version of the Unity API files that are either .Net Standard or a version which targets .Net Core.

Does anyone know when or if a .Net Core / .Net Standard version of the Unity API will be releasd?

Similar questions come up a lot.

This pretty recent post has some discussion, I don't think anyone has (or will share) a definitive answer.

Per the link Alex French mentioned, doesn't sound like it's coming up soon. I've created a suggestion on the new ideas beta. https://community.hyland.com/ideas/idea/67697-add-a-rest-api-for-onbase
