Hyland IdP - Is this required for 2022.1

We are upgrading our system from EP1 where we use AD-Enhanced to 2022.1. We use Unity Client, Thick Client,  OnBase Web, and Plan Rview. We don't use OnBase Mobile. Is Hyland IdP now required for 2022.1?

Hi @Margaret Huang ,

The Hyland IDP doesn't support Active Directory - EnhancedActive Directory - Enhanced is a native feature of OnBase.  The Hyland IDP doesn't rely on OnBase, but can work with it.

If you would like to implement Active Directory authentication via the Hyland IDP, you'll need to federate using SAML (or WS-FED) through Active Directory Federation Services (AD FS) or via Azure AD.

That being said, at this time the Hyland IDP is not required for any of the clients you referenced.

Take care.

Thank you @Adam Shane.

I have two MRGs, "identity-and-access-management-services-hyland-idp-3-1-module-ref.pdf" and "integrating-with-hyland-iam-services-onbase-foundation-22-1-modul.pdf".  Is there another mrg that documents the details for AD FS or Azure AD configurations? Thanks!

Hi @Margaret Huang ,

My pleasure.

There is no MRG that discusses the specific steps needed to configure AD FS or Azure AD as a SAML provider for the Hyland IDP.  This is because they are third parties which are typically not documented within Hyland documentations.  However, they are using the SAML protocol which is a standard.

Here is a Post which discusses Azure AD, however, you might be able to find other Posts on Community ...
