Does OnBase 18 Distribution Service work with NHS.net Mail

I'm in the process of testing the OnBase 18 Distribution Service, I'd like to know if it will work with an NHS.net email application account.  Has anyone tried this and found it to work?

Distribution Service should work with any SMTP server configured.

Sadly I found it won't work because OB 18 doesn't utilise the required TLS version that NHS.net requires and therefore cannot/will not authenticate the connection.
