Is there a permission setting somewhere that will restrict a user from being able to delete a document when indexing in a scan queue. I have taken away the delete document privilege but this does not apply to documents that are not indexed yet in a scan queue.

Beginning in version 11, there is a setting on the scan queue configuration:
Config | Import | Scan Queues | Process Options | Indexing | Secure Unindexed Document Delete
When this option is checked for a given scan queue, an indexing user needs to have the 'purge documents' right on the scan queue in order to delete unindexed documents. Without this right, the user cannot delete the unindexed documents.
The default is for this option not to be checked, which maintains the behavior of the client prior to version 11, where a user who could access the scan queue and could perform indexing was allowed to delete an unindexed document with no additional privileges.

Thank you for the reply.
Where do you assign a user 'purge' rights to a given scan queue?

FYI, that setting was added earlier than that. I know it's available in 9.2, and I think it may have been available in 8.2 as well.

Config | Users | User Groups & Rights | Privileges -> under Scan/Index Batches
