Autofill does not work in Web client

We have an issue where an autofill works fine in the thick client but does not work at all in the Web client.

We're using IE8

Are there any settings in the webconfig file that may need looked at?

Hi Greg,

Is this document an E-Form?  There are not any auto fill specific Web.Config settings, so this is probably something else.

Thanks,

Steven Perry

If the autofill is pulling from an external source verify there is a working ODBC connection on the web/app server to the target DB.

The document is not an E-Form...they are TIFF/PDF/Word documents being scanned/virtually printed/imported into the Web Client.  This is happening with 2 different external autofills.

  1. The first is an Oracle DB.  This external autofill was recently configured and works fine in the Thick Client.
  2. The second is a SQL DB.  This external autofill worked fine in the Thick and Web Client previous to a server change in the past week.  After we reconfigured the ODBC connections to point to the new server the autofill did not work in the Web Client but it does work in the Thick Client.

We do not receive any messages when trying to index using the external autofills...it just doesn't populate the keywords.

Hello Erica,

Thank you for using the Community Forums!

As Water Man mentioned in his post, you will want to verify that the ODBC connections to the external autofill databases are correct on your Application Server(s).  When the Web Client executes an autofill, the Application Server is the one that needs to be able to communicate with the external databases in order to pull that data.  Also, you will want to recycle your application pools after reconfiguring the ODBCs to your other databases so that the Web Client can pick up the changes.

If after checking those few things it still does not work, I would suggest you contact your first line of support so they can troubleshoot this with you.

Thank you,

Andy Gonzalez
