Kofax has removed support for the controlling application (OnBase) to specify the entire endorser string and to change it per page. OnBase can only be set to change the prefix, and now Kofax has started enforcing a character limit on this prefix of 29 characters.
Kofax has gone through several iterations of what they support and the endorser string is completely controlled by Kofax based on the settings in the Kofax endorser settings dialog (which is accessed through the OnBase Client in the scan format dialog, but is Kofax’s dialog box and their code). Kofax only allows the controlling software (i.e. OnBase) to set what they call the PREFIX portion of the text, which we do when the scan queue is configured to “auto endorse pages” – and we hard-code the prefix text to be “Batch XXX mm-dd-yyyy – “. Under SCR: #127867 for the OnBase Thick Client this hard-coded string was changed to be “XXX mm-dd-yyyy “ – removing the word “batch” and the trailing dash. Kofax has removed the support for the controlling application to specify the entire endorser string and to be able to change it per page, which is what we used to do through the software using the endorser VB script. Kofax has limited the total length of the endorser string to be 29 characters.
