We just had a user report a problem when using the Send to - Mail recipient option in the OnBase thick client. We are using OnBase 12 SP3. The user selected 3 documents and wanted to send them to an external email address using the right click, send to, mail recipient option. This would not produce an error but it was not ever opening a mail dialog box for her to finish sending the email. 2 of the documents being selected are color photos that are just more than 2 MB each in size.
I found another post on the OnBase Community which suggested using the right click, Send to., Advanced Mail and sending all of the selected documents as PDFs.
This reduced the file size of the color photos to about 500 KB each and they were able to be sent via email without any issues.
Is there a file size limit in the OnBase thick client of about 2 MB per file when using the Send to, Mail recipient option?

Hi Bruce,
We do not limit the file size in the OnBase Client for the Send to, Mail Recipient option. We do have an option in OnBase Configuration to display a warning when you reach specific file size but users still have the option of adding the attachment to the message.
Configuring Mail Attachment Warning
The behavior that you are experiencing may be due to limitations on the Mail Server itself. I suggest verifying if a limit is set in your Mail Server for the particular user.
Please contact your first line of support for additional assistance if you find that the Mail Server does not have a limit configured.
