Using Change Password Utility Against Upgraded Database That Has Already Had the HSI Password Changed Before

If a database has already had its HSI password changed using the Change PW Utility, will that same utility need to be run against the same database post-upgrade?

Hey Josh,

Yes the change password process will need to be executed on the new executables. So for example, if you upgraded from OnBase 13 (which had the PW changed in the executables) and are now moving to OnBase 17, these new executables would now also need to be updated to include the changed HSI password.

As an item of note, as of OnBase 13, this functionality has been moved and built into OnBase Configuration. The use of the Change Password Utility should not be leveraged if you are using a newer OnBase Database (13 and above). More information can be found in the OnBase System Admin MRG under the title "Changing Database User Name Passwords"

Thanks,
