Thin client 18 and Edge browser support as of 2023

3rd party support question.

We are using version 18 and reviewed the Edge browser supported.

When the list states supported Microsoft Edge (EdgeHTML version 16+) does that mean it also supports

Microsoft Edge on Chromium 101+ or Microsoft Edge on Chromium 113+ or Microsoft Edge on Chromium 79+??

Trying to let team members know what we can use.

Thanks,

Val

hi Val,

Thanks for your question.

Microsoft Edge using EdgeHTML version 16+ is no longer an offering from Microsoft and is out of Microsoft support as of March 9, 2021. Unless you have a closed environment that does not receive Microsoft updates, or are blocking Microsoft updates for some reason, Edge on EdgeHTML was replaced by Edge on Chromium at that time.

It is a recommendation to keep your browsers updated and on the latest version from the manufacturer.

You will need to ensure the latest version 18 service release (18.0.2.110) is applied to work with the current browser versions.

thanks,

Doug

We are using a Hybrid 17/18 set up

Are you using ActiveX? If so you will have to set compatibility mode on your Web Server URL to IE Mode to continue using ActiveX

If you are using DocPops depending on your system settings you may also end up having them auto-redirect/render as PDFPops (if the user clicks an embedded link within a document in/outside of OnBase, however pasting the same link in the browser will open the native version)

We are using Edge Chromium Version 110.0.1587.69

hi Denis,

thanks for the reminders on needing to adjust Edge with the IE Mode Tab to have the ActiveX Controls available.

thanks,

Doug
