Questions on the hsi.hl7inputprocess table and what different columns mean/are used for.

I have a handful of 

1. Bitwise values for the flags column.
2. Bitwise values for the flags2 column
3. What exactly is extrainfo1 column used for ? (It appears to be for the file size when dump to file is chosen, but not sure if it could be used for something else.)
4. What exactly is extrainfo2 used for?
