We seem to be having difficulty in rolling up several documents into one using pdf writer.  It will not roll them up if one of the documents is already in pdf format.  Is anybody else experiencing this problem and how did you resolve the issue?

The problem is not with it already being a pdf file.  I have done more testing and it seems to be with large files.  We get appraisal documents that are very large because it is loaded with pictures.  Sometimes the pictures are in color which also adds to the file size.  I think if the file is too large then it will not roll up with the rest of the files into one pdf file.  Anyone else experience this problem?

Hi Todd,

When you mention 'rolling up' several documents into one PDF, are you talking about printing a group of documents from OnBase to the PDF Writer utilizing the 'Single Print Job' printing option?

The 'Single Print Job' option causes multiple documents to be combined into a single print job before sending it to the printer, rather than sending each document as a separate job.

However, when OnBase prints PDF documents, it actually passes the print job to the native application (Adobe Reader or Acrobat) to be printed.  For this reason, PDF documents cannot be added to the same print job as other documents and will always be printed individually by the native application.  The same would apply for any document that is printed by its native application (DOC, XLS, MSG, ect.).
