ODBC Drivers for SQL Server for Foundation 24.1

With the ODBC Driver 1* for SQL Server entries, there are none which include Foundation 24.1, although driver 13 has no “Supported Through” entry.  I understand ODBC Driver 17 for SQL Server may be compatible with Foundation 24.1.  Is this still being tested with Foundation 24.1 or what ODBC Driver for SQL Server is compatible with Foundation 24.1?

Hello,

ODBC drivers are NOT dependent on OnBase version. ODBC drivers are dependent on SQL server/OS  version (SQL/OS version dictates what OnBase version is compatible).

Here is a nice "cheat sheet" from Microsoft.

System Requirements, Installation, and Driver Files - ODBC Driver for SQL Server | Microsoft Learn

Good luck.

Hi Marek,

Thank you for the prompt response and useful link to the "cheat sheet" from Microsoft on the ODBC drivers' relationship to SQL Server versions.  The relationship between the ODBC driver versions and the SQL Server database version in use was known, but not well depicted in the Third Party Compatibility list.

It looks like the Third Party Compatibility list was updated to include Foundation 24.1 on the ODBC Driver 17 & 18 for SQL Server.  Based on the SQL Server databases compatible with OnBase versions after Foundation 22.1, it seems the ODBC Driver 13 for SQL Server should have a "Supported Through" column entry of Foundation 22.1.

hi Rodger,

Thanks for catching this. The ODBC driver version should align to the SQL Server version. For SQL Server 2016 or newer, we recommend being on ODBC Driver 17.x or 18.x over the older ODBC 13.1. ODBC 13.1  is only in support for Windows Server 2016.

thanks,

Doug
