An IIS reset restarts the entire webserver, and the following Windows services:
we have had a script that restart IIS nightly, however since upgrade from V17 to EP3, Windows Process Activation service fails to restart with an access denied code. I am wondering if it is neccesary to do an IIS reset if we do nightly recycling of the application pools, then reboot the servers once a month which will reset IIS.
what is the recommendation?
thanks

Hi Angele.
An Application Pool recycle should be enough in most cases. There is no particular recommendation here to do an IISRESET versus and Application Pool recycle.
However, if an IISRESET is not working, then you might need to do more investigation into why the script is not working.
Best wishes.
