1. How often should you run platter management - analyzing Disk Group Volumes? Monthly?

2. Should you only run the ones in the backup queue that are closed?

3. Should you run the open volumes in the Disk Groups

I'm interested to know the answer to this question as well.

Most would recommend to at least run Disk Group Analysis on a Monthly basis for open/online volumes and executed every single time a backup copy is generated to make sure what you are backing up contains all files. Depending on the volume of files your organization maintains in OnBase it might make sense to analyze open volumes on a more frequent basis.

There is actually a Disk Group Analysis Service that you can schedule. See the System Administration MRG for more information to configure this.

Also, see the Quick Look Administration Task Card series on Training.OnBase.Com for the "#12: Analyzing Disk Groups" session here:

Hope this helps
