Hi,
Currently in OnBase 18 we have users who are dragging and dropping multiple documents into the import screen. These documents will need to be indexed as different document types but they share many keywords both in MIKG's and solitary. In OnBase 15 after a document is imported and the next document comes up and has its document type changed the common keywords remained filled in. Now that we are using OnBase 18 these keywords are not remaining. Looking at the MRG it seems that only keywords which are typed in by the user will be remembered, however, for use even these are disappearing. The user option for 'Clear Document Keywords After Import' is unchecked. Any ideas?
Thanks
Derek

We have had the same issue and there is an SCR for it... SCR#295703...contact Hyland and ask to be put on the list...
Short Description: Import Dialog does not respect 'ResetKeywords=0' when changing the document types in the import dialog box for indexing and changing document types
SCR #: 295703
Status: DEV-Release Review
Approved Version:
Business Problem: When going into the OnBase client and performing a File - Import - and attempting to index with a keyword value of 'X', when selecting a second document type with a commong keyword input in the previous document type, the keyword is cleared, even though the OnBase Client INI file is set for 'ResetKeywords=0'.
Functionality: Keywords | TC
Steps to Recreate: **Tested in 14.0.2.88 and 15.0.3.238 and the client respected the keyword setting and kept the keyword when changing document types **Tested in 16.0.1.78, 17.0.1.71 and 17.1.0.111 and the ResetKeywords=0 is not respected **Per the MRG: ResetKeywords Activate to clear the Keyword Values after each import. Deactivate to retain the Keyword Values of the last file imported. Note: This setting is respected only if the KeepDialog setting is enabled (KeepDialog=1). 1 indicates that the option is true or active. 1.) log into OnBase Thick Client (ORASCR171) 2.) Go to Admin | utilities | Edit INI file - **Notice that 'resetkeywords=0' and 'KeepDialog=1' (default settings not modified) 3.) Close ini file 4.) file | import (can use any two document types with a common keyword) | Select Document Type Group drop down | System Documents | Document Type drop down | Sys ACORD Request Template 5.) in Description type anything, for this purpose I input 'HI' 6.) Then select Document Type Dropdown | SYS ACORD Response Template - Notice that the keyword is not carried over 7.) Try these same steps in a 14 or 15 system and notice that the keywords stay

Derek,
Hyland made that change on purpose with Release 16 which I found out after we upgraded. I now have an entire department that has gone back to storing their own electronic files instead of storing them in Onbase. Their keywords are not attainable from any source so a one time typing of all values and then the carry over of values to the next document was the only way they would move their stuff to Onbase to begin with.
You would think that Hyland would have made that a global or user setting instead of just turning off the functionality.
