Can Distributed Centera Service and Distributed Disk Service both run on the same server?

Hi Marino,

Working with Sean, SCR: #166289 has been created to enhance the software so that both DDS and DCS can run on the same server.  As well, I added both you and Nathan to the enhancement request.

Take care.

Thanks Everyone,

Sorry for the mis-information. I must have been thinking of something else.

Has there been any movement on this SCR? It seems a little silly to have to stand up separate file servers if we are running DDS for Copy 1 and Centera for Copy 2.

Thanks!

Hi John,

The SCR has been completed/tested and is available with builds 2.0.2-b9 or higher of the Distributed Centera Server (DCS) service.  This means that the DCS service can handle both DDS and DCS requests within a single service.  The reverse is not true.  The DDS service is only able to handle DDS requests and is not able to handle DCS requests.

Take care.
