Can Distributed Centera Service and Distributed Disk Service both run on the same server?

Hi Marino,

I have inquired about this same thing and Hyland has informed me they can run on the same server. We will be setting ours up this way.

Also, they have informed me too that having a second server ready with the DDS Service is advisable so if the server fails there is a fallback.

Hope this helps.

We are running OnBase version 9 and we had to stop the DDS service in order for the DCS to run as a service on the same server.  We already had a second repository server running in our pre-production environment so our plan was to run DDS on one and DCS on the second server.

I plan to reach out to Hyland to get confirmation.

I appreciate your reply

Hello,

It is not possible to run two Distributed Servers on the same machine.

This is a snippet from the Storage Integration for EMC Centera MRG page 23.

"More than one Distributed Services server (e.g., DDS, DCS, DTS) cannot run at the same time on the same server. For example, if Distributed Disk Services detects that Distributed Centera Services is already running on the server, DDS will not start."

Thanks,
Sean

Sean,

Thanks for your reply.  What version  of OnBase are you running?
