Can't open file introduced by DIP

Hi everyone,

I'm DIPing files with only one Doc Type, that Doc Type is linked to a Unity Form and identified in the Config as Unity Form Doc Type; when the files are DIped, I can't open them and get an error message in both the Unity and Web Clients. In the Thick Client, under the DIP the error is clearer, it says "This document belongs to the Unity Forms File Format and cannot be displayed"

I changed the Doc Type to a PDF in the config, I deleted the Unity Form, I completely rebuilt the DIP process and the result is still the same!

2 Questions:

1: Why is it introducing it as a Unity Form when the document is PDF or TIFF?

2: Why are my changes not solving the issue now that the Doc Type has no link to a Unity Form!

Can anyone help?!

I feel like I had this happen to me once. My DIPd files were inheriting the Doc Type default File Type.

I had to update my DIP index file with a keyword type of >>File Type

From DIP MRG:

Note: If you are importing files of a file format that is different from the
Document Type’s Default File Format, you must include the >>File Type
Default Keyword Type in the Import Index file. If the >>File Type Default
Keyword Type is not added, you are unable to view your imported
documents.

The System Admin MRG has most of the codes needed under the section  "Standard File Formats"

PDF = 16

Use this File Format for the ability to view PDF
documents.
By default, PDF documents are displayed using
the OnBase internal viewer.
Your system can be configured to open PDF
documents in an instance of Acrobat or Acrobat
Reader instead of the internal viewer. For more
information on configuring PDF documents to
open in an instance of Acrobat or Acrobat Reader,
see the section on viewing PDF documents in
Acrobat or Acrobat Reader in the OnBase Client
module reference guide.

Thanks Eric,

This has changed the behaviour from not being able to open the PDF to opening but with garbled text but I'll check other areas where the format may be getting corrupted

Can you look at the dip file.  Are you using the file type number for importing?

I was not using that but I added it based on Eric's advice. I can open the PDF now but the files are corrupted.
