MSI file has been added to trusted publisher still throwing certificate warnings. Also, cert expiration date is showing as 5/4/2022 so VPD doesnt work after 5/4 is that correct? How can we extend the cert expiration date?

Hello,
Is the new VPD software available yet? Also, our software deployment team asked if Hyland can please provide the cert directly as well? That should make implementation work more consistently in our environment.

Hello All,
New installers and certificate have been posted for VPD. The new certificate is good until May 2025.
You can download the new certificate from the Secure Download page here on Community. Support | Secure Downloads | Enter the following Zip File Name.
Virtual Print Driver Certificate for Silent Install - 2025
FileName - VPDCertificate2025.zip
We appreciate everyone’s patience during the certificate window expiration. I would like to take this opportunity to clarify some of the details surrounding this process.
The VPD software will continue to work as expected even with an expired certificate. The certificate is used in several ways. One of which, is while the artifacts that will be included in the installer are being compiled into assemblies (dlls), the certificate is used to validate the files. This ensures that the files being included in the installer are the same as the ones that we intend to be installed. (i.e. they have not been modified after the fact in some way) This allows those installing to feel confident that the installed files are safe for use.
The certificate needs to be installed on the target machine and this allows the user running the installer to know when the certificate has/will expire. If the certificate is expired, the warning message will be shown. The installer and the software will continue to work, but the user must acknowledge they wish to continue even though the certificate is expired. The certificate in the case of VPD needs regenerated every 3 years.
The type of certificate that is needed for VPD can ONLY be reissued when there is less than 30 days remaining in the existing certificate’s lifespan. The certificate is issued by a non-Hyland party and Hyland can only request the certificate and does not control when the updated certificate can be requested/re-issued. We apologize that this turnaround time is so limited, but there is really nothing we can do to expedite it, though we do wish we could get the certificate much sooner.
Thank you,
Tom Lewis

We are having some issues with the new certificate.
The old and new certificates were issued to different companies. See below:
VPDCERT_Exp_2022.cer
Issued To: "Hyland Software, Inc"
VPDCERT_Exp_2025.cer
Issued To: "Hyland Software, Inc."
