Question for healthcare customers producing barcode documents for Onbase scanning

We use Epic as our EMR and once we go live with Onbase it's our expectation that we will use the barcode label produced at the patient registration, it has the patient serial number embedded into the label so it's perfect. We don't have a forms solution though, so right now the templates for the few paper documents we still produce are stored in MS Word. So we want a barcode with document type to be embedded on the paper document, which would require some third-party add-on for Word. So we don't really have a solution in place to produce the barcode, which is why I'm reaching out to see what other healthcare customers do.

Here is a super easy solution. We generate the barcodes we need from a site like the one below. Create the type you want with what you want it to say. Then just copy and paste it into your Word document and Voila! Barcoded documents! 🙂
