We currently use the OPEX system to scan documents, and the AnyDoc system to perform the OCR processes. The OPEX system is extracting the MICR information from the checks and that information is exported to the bank for Automatic deposit. The AnyDoc system is capturing additional keywords on document types, and creates an XML file that is uploaded to the Host system to be used for "pre-filling" Online transactional data, and a keyword file that is utilized by a DIP process. The AnyDoc system is complicated, difficult to acquire training, and not stable on a daily basis. So, we are considering using Advanced Capture to replace these processes. I have a couple of questions:

1. This depends on what format your check file needs to be? Is this file currently being generated by AnyDoc or is the OPEX exporter creating it? OnBase supports many different types of check file formats, although these are read/created for output by the check processing modules, not Advanced Capture.
2. Yes - OnBase Advanced Capture supports multiple templates per document type
3. Advanced Capture can create an XML format data file based on the extraction, and the node names used are configurable but the overall structure of the XML is not. You could always apply a transform to the XML data to reformat into the structure required by your host system.

The OPEX exporter is creating a file containing the MICR information, and the AnyDoc DEPOSit system is creating the file that is sent to the bank for automatic deposit. So, we would need to purchase the Check Processing module to be able to produce the check file for automatic deposit? When you say "apply a transform to the XML data", does that require additional software?

No, you wouldn't necessarily need anything special hardware or software related to transform the XML into a different format - this can be accomplished using widely available XML tools and/or scripting languages. You may find this article useful: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XSLT
Regarding your use of DEPOSit and/or considering OnBase tools to do the check processing:
I didn't mention it in my previous post, but Hyland Software has just recently acquired AnyDoc Software (http://www.hyland.com/about/media-room/press-releases/2013/Hyland%20Software%20Acquires%20AnyDoc%20S...) so you may want to talk to either your AnyDoc representative or your Hyland solution provider representative to discuss ways that you can choose which components best fit your solution needs and how you can integrate everything together effectively.
