BIC processing performance

We are running Foundation EP3 SAP Integration and have installed the 64 bit BIC service as well. However, it is taking our system upwards of 6 hours to process 150k IDOCs. This is causing problems as the processing runs into our nightly DB maintenance jobs and causes blocking issues that require engaging our DB team to resolve. Is there any way to improve BIC throughput? Are there any settings that can be adjusted to give the BIC more resources? Is anyone else processing similar numbers of documents and seeing similar or better performance?

Hi Jason,

  With regards to the performance issue you are having with BIC, I do have some follow-up questions for you viz:

1.       Is this a recent manifestation or long-standing issue (for this number of IDOCS)?
2.       Do you have the Diagnostic Console turned on? If  "Yes", do ensure that the minimum-level is set to "Error"!

We've recently increased the number of documents we process significantly. It wasn't an issue before, but has become more noticeable as the workload has increased.

I have also verified that our minimum-level is set to 'Error' for Diagnostic Console as well in the BIC config file.
