Reporting DATABASE for Dashboards

We want to move to a Reporting DATABASE for Dashboards due to our size (and Dashboards timing out after 5 minutes).  Can we use the Dashboards from the Reporting Database (different ODBC) and the current PROD inside the same Unity Client?

Hi Mitzie,

You most certainly can!

Check out the Changing Reporting Dashboards Settings section in the Reporting Dashboards MRG for more info.

In OnBase Config under Utils | Dashboard Report Settings you specify the Reporting Data Source. This will be the ODBC connection on your Application Server in 17, or your Connection String Name in your AppServer web.config in OnBase 18

I hope this helps!

Hi,

We are considering setting up a separate database server for Dashboard due to the number of Dashboards, users running Dashboards, overall slowness users experience running Dashboard, and Dashboards timing out and/or timing out while exporting to Excel.

How did this work out for you?  Did you see an improvement in the time it took Dashboards to run?  Fewer timeouts?  Any improvements in processing times after this was completed?

How complex was this process to implement?  We are still on 18 with an upgrade planned in 2022; wondering if this is worth the effort for the next 12 - 15 months.

Thanks,

Tina
