Export Report (via unity scheduler) to a network location as a .csv

Hi! We have a reporting dashboard that we want as a .csv file so we can upload it to splunk.  The report is a .xlsx currently, and using the "export to network location" workflow action allows you to set the file as a .csv but it's format is still xlsx. Do I have to use a script to convert it first?

Is the export happening from UMC executing a workflow timer with the export to network location action (should be csv format) or a scheduler task specifically exporting the report/data provider (should be xlxs format)?
