Restrict email function by document type

Hi there

We have had a question from a client, if it is possible to restrict access to email functionality based on document type. I know you can restrict emailing (internal/external) at a user level, but cannot see anything at a document type level. The justification is either that certain document types should never be distributed outside the company (but can be inside), or perhaps only specific users have the right to distribute those document types.

Hi David,

I think Override Privileges on a user group are what you're looking for.  This can be setup in Configuration | Document | Document Types | <select document type> | User Group | <select user group> | Override Privileges | <add user group> | Settings.  You can check/ uncheck what you'd like the user to have or not have per document type.

Note: If a user exists in multiple user groups, this can affect the impact this has.
