OnBase Virtual Printer Configuration

Is there a configuration that controls what "Document Type Groups" appear in the drop down menu when printing to the Hyland Virtual Printer?  Users are requesting that certain OnBase groups should only be able to upload documents to certain "Document Type Groups".  Is there a group setting in the Configuration that will do this?

Hey Scott,

The Document Type Group and Document Type drop down list in the VPD import dialog box is controlled by the User who is importing and what User Groups that user belongs to. Specifically, one of the groups that the user belongs to must have the privilege to "create" documents and additionally any Document Type Group or Document Type that is assigned to these group(s) will show up in the list. So to prevent users from uploading to certain Document Types you can use Document Type overrides to accomplish this, but if they simply don't want to see they Document Type Group in the list they would need to have that Document Type Group unassigned from their User Group(s) (note that this would also affect retrieval.)

My personal suggestion would be to use Document Type Overrides to deny the "Create" privilege for certain document types (not Document Type Groups) if they should not be allowed to upload those types of documents.

Hope this helps!
