Move Onbase COLD Scheduler Service

I need to move the "Onbase COLD Scheduler Service" from one server to another. It is the only thing I need to move meaning nothing else is changing about our Onbase configuration.

Before I call our vendor for assitance on this, can anyone give me a basic understanding of how this would be completed?

Hello Snturner,

There are a few basic steps that you would follow:

  1. Stop the old COLD Service.
  2. Install the OnBase thick client on the new server.
  3. Setup the new OnBase Service (Admin | Utilities | Windows Services) and be sure to add the -SCHED switch as an additional argument.
  4. Revoke the COLD license from the previous server (Admin | User Management | Workstation Registration)
  5. Add the COLD license to the new server.
  6. Change the processing workstation by modifying the already created schedule and pointing to the new server (Processing | Scheduler | Schedule Management)
  7. Start the new service.

Hope this helps!

Thank you Justin
