Missing Database Indexes

Hello,

We are encountering SQL slowness on the Server when running specific custom queries on the system and unrestricted queries. We ran a DMV that shows us missing indexes on the Onbase Database. Microsoft states that should not have any missing indexes as it created query deficiencies if you do create them it suppose to increase performance on the indexes. Is this true for Onbase? Thank you.

Hi Carlos,

The OnBase database schema is created with standard indexes that support typical use of the software. I would first verify that all of the standard indexes exist using the Validate Database options in the DBUtils utility.

If all of the standard indexes exist and you believe that these indexes aren't sufficient for your solution then please contact your first line of support so that we can assist you in evaluating any proposed new indexes to ensure that they are appropriate for the queries being executed and that they won't negatively affect other portions of the software and schema. Keep in mind that custom, non-standard index creation in the OnBase database falls under the umbrella of schema modification and is subject to the Database Use Policy.

Thank you,

Ansley
