Can Distributed Centera Service and Distributed Disk Service both run on the same server?

Awesome, thanks! So if I read that right, we would uninstall DDS from the server and install DCS instead, and it would handle both DDS and DCS. What about port numbers? DDS uses port 2185 and DCS uses port 3218 by default - is that true even if DCS is doing the DDS requests?

Also, is there a certain OnBase version required to use this build of DCS?

Hi John,

My pleasure!  In both cases the Distributed Services (DDS, DCS, etc) are going to listen on port 2185 which is the default port.  By having a single service (in this case the DCS service) listening on the 2185 port you no longer need to configure two services.  As part of the Centera configuration, 3218 is the default port which the Centera device is listening for requests.  This is configured under the Disk Mgmt | Disk Groups | Volume Configuration | EMC Centera setting for the respective disk group.

Additionally, the Distributed Services are backwards compatible meaning that newer versions of the service will work with older versions of the OnBase Client software.

Take care.
