Cloud Based Disk Group Storage

Has anyone tested with Cloud type storage for disk groups or is anyone using them that is willing to share pros/cons?  I'm not sure if the capability exists now, but I see some older posts from 2012 that said it wasn't at that time.

Hi Karen;
We are actually going to begin testing exactly what you are asking with Amazon Storage Gateway. We are just getting started but I can give you a status later as we get a little further into this.

Did you ever clarify this? We're in a similar situation, one of our customers would like to keep the already existing files on cloud storage (Azure and AWS) while the new docs will live on OBOL.
