Can you setup a new doc type that will accept multiple file formats? For example: cda, mp3, jpg, wav, avi

All doc types can accept any file format (including all the ones you have listed). You could also store image files in that same doc type. That said, there can only be one "Default File Format" per doc type.

Daniel, do you know if there are any issues with doc types that have an HTML overlay or Unity Form associated with them?

Yes, you should be able to. We do this where we have a single document type that we import TIFF's and PDF's into. The only thing we had to do different was since these were being imported using DIP we had to add a field to the DIP for the file format to you to specify that some were PDF's instead of images so they would display correctly within OnBase since Image File Format=2 and uses a different viewer than a PDF which has a file format=16.

FYI - We had OnBase 13 and this was not available.  After we upgraded to Onbase 16 we noticed that we could assign multiple File Formats to an individual DocType.  Within Config, choose the DocType and select File Types.

A few caution areas:

- Do not check "Respect Custom File Types" in the DocType settings menu.  If manually importing files, it will always change the file format to the default file type, which causes user confusion.

- If doing DIPs to import documents, make sure you are setting the file format keyword appropriately (using the OnBase number that represents file type).
