We have a "Month" keyword for our documents, which consists of the number and name of the month, e.g. '06 - JUN'. In some autoname strings we only want the month name, so we use the keyword substring function, %S6.3 (start at character 6 with a minimum length of 3), which would turn '06 - JUN' to 'JUN'. However, sometimes we have a need for the month number only to appear in the autoname string, and %S1.2 does not change '06 - JUN' to '06', but leaves it as '06 - JUN'. (Clearly the minimum length part of the equation does not limit characters...)
SCR 165849 has been created to allow truncation of a keyword from the end of the string, but it is in backlog. Just wondering if anyone has found a workaround for this in the meantime, such that we can use a substring from the beginning of the keyword.
Thanks!
