PDFs not being encrypted in TempPath after being imported into FOS

Hi everyone,

We recently found in our environment that when we import PDF files with FOS, the PDF files that it creates in the TempPath location are not being encrypted even though we have EncryptFiles set to TRUE. Images and the .TMP files that it creates do seem to be encrypted as expected.

Steps to reproduce this behavior:

1. Launch FOS using a configuration file that has the EncryptFiles setting set to TRUE
2. Go to File > Import File, select a PDF, and then import it (don't do anything else with it at this point, like assigning it to a document type)
3. Go to the location of your TempPath and open the temporary PDF file that FOS just created there
4. See if the PDF is openable/viewable or if it appears to be corrupt/encrypted

And then there's also a secondary issue which is that, once we've selected a PDF to be imported, FOS seems to always leave one of these unencrypted PDFs behind in the TempPath location. Even after we have finalized the import by clicking "Upload Images" or have removed the file from FOS by clicking "Delete File" or "Discard Images," at least one PDF remains in the TempPath location, and they remain there after exiting FOS. I'm not surprised that some files would be orphaned because FOS probably isn't always able to exit gracefully (computer crashing, Hyperspace session timing out/getting disconnected, etc.), but with PDF files in particular, it seems to leave at least one file behind every single time.

Other notes:

• We're able to reproduce this behavior in versions 21.1.34.1000, 21.1.26.1000, and 18.0.1.86. We haven't tried other versions.

• Images do seem to get encrypted as expected. If we set EncryptFiles to FALSE and do the same steps mentioned above but for an image, we find that those image files are viewable/not encrypted in the TempPath location (as expected), so we believe that the EncryptFiles setting should be encypting the PDFs.

• After importing the PDF, if we then click one of the buttons to assign it to a document type, FOS will create a second PDF of the same size in the TempPath location. This second PDF does appear to be encrypted, so FOS seems to be capable of encrypting them in some situations.

• If you have previously uploaded a PDF and you double-click it in the "Documents" pane at the bottom of the FOS screen, FOS will create another PDF file in the TempPath location. That one is also unencrypted.

• This behavior is the same whether we use FOS as a standalone client launched directly on a workstation or whether we launch it from Epic Hyperspace via Citrix/VMWare Horizon.

Has anyone else out there found that they have this same behavior? And if so, have you found any way to get FOS to encrypt the PDF files in the TempPath location?

Thanks,
Matt
