Hi, we use VPD to file documents from a state system. The document type is set to image file format, and the users who file have their VPD set to B/W with 300 dpi resolution.  We export the images weekly to another department so they can register them officially for the county.

Periodically the department we export the files to, complains that some of the TIFF images are in greyscale.

What possible setting might cause that type of behavior?

thanks

Jim

Hi @Jim McKenney,

I found a similar support case called "VPD sporadically will convert to Tiff with information missing"  where the customer had a similar issue as you.

Here was their resolution:

Selected the option 'Prefer OBIMGLIB or Nuance Engine for PDF format conversion' setting and gauging if there is more consistency.

Selecting OBIMGLIB reverted to bringing PDFs in color rather than greyscale.

Option to control black and white is available in Config | Import | Scan Queues | <highlight queue> | Process Options | Image Processing; Add another process operation 'Convert to Monochrome'.

If missing data persists, may also enable logging to see if a specific error is being captured.
Enable verbose logging on the scanning workstation (-V switch on the thick client shortcut).

I hope this information is helpful for you.

Thanks for asking in our Community!
