Sorting not available in Document Packaging

I am working to configure and test Document Packaging and have set up a template that uses a Portfolio Type however, when I generate the packet the Date Sort option is grayed out.  What am I not understanding or missing here?  The users will want to be able to choose the sort order of the documents when generating the packet.

Thanks for reaching out. Could you please check if the "Allow users to reorder documents" option is unselected under Package Template Options of the template being used? — Selecting this option should resolve date sorting issue.
