Searching for specific text in Document Composition templates

We are currently using OnBase build 16.0.2.77 of the Document Composition module with Office 2010.

Is there a way to search across all of our existing document templates for a specific word and/or phrase?

We have a former employee who is referenced in a large number of the document templates we currently use. Is there a way to search for her name in our document templates to ensure we update everything that is needed?

Hello Bruce,

I hope that your week is going well and thanks for reaching out using the Hyland Community.

The "Find" functionality for Template Builder, in Open Template, Control Panel, and placeholders that insert Fragments, would not be able to perform the task that you have described.  One way you could try and leverage this to your advantage, would be if you named a Fragment with that employee's name.  Other than that, you would have to go through the templates and search for the name.

If you have any other questions, feel free to reach out.

Thank  You,

Derrick Maldonado

Another 'get er done' option could be a standard Windows search:

Search your System Document Disk Group location for Word documents and use the 'File Contents' Advanced Option to search for text within the documents.

This might return more results than desired (if there are multiple versions of the same template out there), but at least it would clue you into to ALL of the templates that contain her name.
