DocuSign has recently released a Payments feature that allows organizations to combine document signatures with payment processing*. With so many practical applications in multiple industries, there has been a lot of interest in using this feature and our customers are asking "does it work with the OnBase integration?"

The Payments feature can be used with the OnBase Integration for DocuSign as long as the DocuSign Template information is not automatically passed at the time of upload (utilizing this feature introduced in OnBase 17)**. The following common scenarios will not experience problems with the DocuSign Payments feature:

Scenario 1: OnBase user uses the DocuSign button in the Unity toolbar to upload the document. They continue when asked if they would like to open the document in the DocuSign Sender View. From this window, they can add the payment option manually to the document or select a DocuSign Template that already has the payment pre-configured. They can then send the document as usual.

Scenario 2: Workflow automatically uploads the document as a "draft" in DocuSign, utilizing the "Suppress Signer Notification Emails" option. A DocuSign user can then sign into their DocuSign account, find the document in their Drafts folder, and make all necessary changes, including the addition of the payment feature. The document will be sent as usual.

If you have any questions about using DocuSign Payments with the Integration for DocuSign eSignature, please contact your first line of support, your account manager, or ask a question in the Forum.

* For more information about this feature, please see the DocuSign website or contact your DocuSign account representative.

** Hyland development is working with DocuSign to extend support for this feature in the future. Stay tuned for details.
