So, you’ve set up a department with OnBase, given them a scanner and they’re happily scanning all of their documents into OnBase. That’s great…but in today’s digital world, is it enough?

What about those important documents that arrive by email? Or those exported from a line-of-business system or downloaded from an online portal? If you don’t have an easy capture tool for these digital documents, users will print them out just to scan them back in! It’s a print-scan-shred nightmare that brings back all the problems of paper and completely derails your organization from becoming truly paperless.  It also introduces a host of security problems, because the document can be exposed to prying eyes once it’s been printed into the physical world.  Listen to our webinar to learn more about VPD – and how VPD can help you stop the insanity!

VPD to the rescue!
Meet the solution to your ad-hoc capture problems. This easy-to-operate tool can be extended to anyone in your organization so that they can capture electronic documents simply by pressing the “print” button in any Windows application.  It looks and functions like a regular printer, but – and this is the important part – without the paper.

You’ve got your choice of options with VPD, too. There are settings to control file sizes as well as image resolution quality and color. Your users can either index the document right into OnBase, using the client that is most convenient for them, or those “printed” documents route to a scan queue in OnBase to be indexed at a later time.

Because VPD looks and functions like a Windows printer, it’s easy to train anyone to use it.  And one VPD license serves an entire enterprise, so with one product you can extend OnBase capture to everyone in your organization.
