Export/Import Configuration Items:
In OnBase 15, a new feature in Configuration allows you to export Document Composition Templates independently from Workflow. The "Export Configuration Items" feature exports Doc Comp Templates and Doc Comp ODBC inputs to an .expk file (similar to an OnBase Studio export file). To access the wizard, open OnBase Configuration and navigate to Utils -> Export Configuration (must have an Application Server specified in Config).
Once you choose "Document Composition Templates", you will see all templates that are available for export. In the above screenshot, I've chosen the Mutual Non-Disclosure Agreement, which has moved to the "Selected" column. Once you've chosen your file, you are prompted to export the file as an .expk. You will be able to move this file between environments.
To import, navigate to Utils->Import Configuration File within the OnBase Configuration module. A system lock will activated when the import starts, and through finalization. No users will be able to log in and no other configuration import processes can be run while the system is locked. After specifying the file you want to import, the wizard will navigate to the "Resolutions" screen. You can choose the template you exported, and choose from Create, Map, or Replace. In the below screenshot, I've chosen to Replace an existing template in my production system:
Import/Export Options for OnBase 14 and earlier:
Previous to OnBase 15, the option for importing and exporting Document Composition Templates is to use Workflow Import/Export. If the Document Composition Template is not already part of a lifecycle with the Workflow action “SYS – Compose Document” configured, a special lifecycle would have to be created for export, and an action must be added for every template that needs to be moved.
