OnBase Integration for Salesforce v2.1.0 & 3.0.0

Released April 2022 & December 2022

Corresponds with OnBase Foundation EP5 & 22.1

***NOTE: This post has been corrected. Print functionality was not added until OIFS v3.0.0. The screenshot below is from v3.0.0***

Download and print documents from Salesforce

  • Download an OnBase document from Salesforce to the local file system (2.1.0)
  • Print an OnBase document from Salesforce screen (3.0.0)
  • Enabled in custom settings in Salesforce; button location (in viewer) is fixed

Business Benefit: When users desire document access beyond that of the Salesforce application, documents may be printed or downloaded for use outside of the system. Additionally, users that want to open .MSG, .EML, .MP4 or other files in their native format can download locally and open with source application.

Hi Colleen.

In addition to the new OIFS functionality to Download and Print a document retrieved from OnBase, can a Salesforce user directly Email the document to a customer using OIFS? If not, is the Email functionality on the Salesforce development Roadmap?

Can a Salesforce user upload and access Videos and Audio stored in OnBase? What is needed for such integration?

Hello! Just wanted to make sure everyone knows about the What's new for the OnBase integration for Salesforce webinar we're holding March 23 at 1:00 EST. Thanks!

Hello all!

@Todd Stafford it is not possible to email, but is out our radar, checking on timeline!

@Nouha Mehio video and audio files CAN be uploaded into OnBase (integration is only limited by what OnBase can handle), however the integration does NOT have capabilities for playback within the viewer. With this said, it is possible to download the video/audio file and play it with native file association on local system...like Windows Media Player.

@Scoop Skupien thanks so much for this reminder! Friends, our technical experts will be on the upcoming webinar on March 23, 2023 to answer all of your questions live!

Where is the documentation on how to enable :

Print and download documents from Salesforce

  • Print an OnBase document from Salesforce screen
  • Download an OnBase document from Salesforce to the local file system
  • Enabled in custom settings in Salesforce; button location (in viewer) is fixed

I cannot find it in the Integration doc.

@Katrina Fellenbaum Download is supported in OIFS v2.1.0, but Print was not added until OIFS v3.0.0.  Both are enabled in Custom Settings. The download/print options are enabled in Custom Settings. In the OnBase Integration for Salesforce settings (manage/edit), select Enable Download. I found this in the Reference Guide if you want step by step.

Thank you, I had enabled download but was missing the fact that the print isn't out until 3.0.0. I was reading that they were both available with the version we are on.
