As many of you know, in late January 2022, DocuSign announced it was sunsetting its Internet Explorer 11 support for the DocuSign web interface on May 18.
At Hyland, we took note of this and proactively performed an evaluation in early February. We thought we had everything covered, but there was specific logic in the DocuSign integration flow to launch IE11 that did not honor the Unity Client configuration to leverage the embedded Chromium browser that DocuSign supports.
We didn’t catch that, and we apologize.
We worked intensely to address this issue that is affecting our DocuSign customers. We have fixes coming next week for OnBase 18, EP1, EP3, and EP5. Meanwhile, we’ve already identified some workarounds and shared them here.
Here’s a quick update on the progress of the fixed builds:
While the changes made to correct this issue are only in the Unity Client, the new builds we make available will require corresponding versions of Appserver to point to. To simplify deployment, rather than upgrading your existing Appserver and all your other OnBase clients that may use it, you can install a separate instance of Appserver to run in parallel just for the new Unity Clients to point to.
I also want to share that all other functions of our integration with DocuSign are working as expected to send document envelopes out for signature. So, you have the option of continuing to use the workarounds if you prefer not to take a newer build with the fix in it.
The world of software changes every day.
In fact, the whole world feels like it’s changed since Hyland opened its doors in 1991. But our commitment to you, our customers, will never change.
If you have any concerns, please post a comment and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible!
