Wiki Editor Usability/Repacement

The wiki editor component is hardly a wiki editor and even
if you want WYSIWYG in a wiki (which you don't) its usuability is questionable.

We intend to use the wiki as a central (per site) information share, with central stylesheets
and uniform appearance. Forcing people to edit html for formatting code
and writing styleguides that nobody reads or sticks to is a no-go.

Is it possible to switch the rich text editor component for a wiki editor component?
Maybe I overlooked some setting.

Thx in advance for any hints.

The wiki tool in Alfresco Share is there as a way for people collaborating on a project to quickly create project-related documents. It isn't intended to be a full-fledged wiki with the features you describe.

There is an add-on called Wiki Rich Content that is part of the Share Extras project on Google Code that you may want to look at. I suspect it won't go far enough to meet the requirements you've outlined.

There are multiple people working on bringing the old MediaWiki integration up to speed and making it work with Alfresco Share. You might be interested in this effort. You can find at least one of them hanging out in #alfresco on freenode IRC.
