When try to create a new topic from the site discussion I receive an error that says
If I go to site discussion and choose "New Topic" I receive this error:
If I go to "All" I get
And if I choose "My Topics" I get
The site activity dashlet seems to know that a discussion was started but I can't seem to get it to display on the discussions page.
I'm sure it is all related but I can't seem to find what the real error is since nothing seems to show up in the log.
Any suggestions as to where to start looking?
Thanks.
Steve
Failure unable to save topic. There is no indication as to why in the alfresco.log file. When I choose OK it just goes back to the Create New Topic page.
If I go to site discussion and choose "New Topic" I receive this error:
Wrapped Exception (with status template): Failed to execute script '/org/alfresco/repository/discussions/forum/forum-posts-new.get.js (in classpath store file:/disk4/alfresco_tomcat/tomcat/webapps/alfresco/WEB-INF/classes/alfresco/templates/webscripts)': could not deserialize
If I go to "All" I get
Wrapped Exception (with status template): Failed to execute script '/org/alfresco/repository/discussions/forum/forum-posts.get.js (in classpath store file:/disk4/alfresco_tomcat/tomcat/webapps/alfresco/WEB-INF/classes/alfresco/templates/webscripts)': could not deserialize

@shoover,
What is the Alfresco version you are using? Is it Labs or Community or Enterprise?
Is this your plain installation of Alfresco with Share? Ideally, this should not happen in your plain installation.
Have you done any customization? Please go through your configurations and customizations to see if anything you have changed…that might be way to go to find a solution.
Have you written any custom action and there is some messup in any of the files? please check.
Hope this was helpful!

This is the enterprise trial version (evaluating before purchase) on Solaris VMware instance.
It is plain Alfresco with share.
I haven't done any customizations other than what was necessary to connect to the Oralce database and Oracle LDAP.
No custom actions.
I will double check the configs as I could have currpoted on during the installation.
I'm getting ready to install on a different server so maybe I'll notice the delta.
Thanks.

Double-checking the configuration and/or installing fresh in a new machine makes lot of sense.
Hope fresh installation should go smooth for you and won't end up in issues. Thank you
