Dear all,
I access Alfresco (Community Edition 3.2r, hosted on Fedora 11) from Word 2007 running on Windows XP SP3 using the SharePoint protocol without problems.
I try to do the same from Word 2007 installed on Windows 7 (64bit Enterprise), but I can't connect, that is, I'm getting asked for the credentials and then I'm told that the internet address of the server is not valid.
What am I missing ?
Thanks for hints,
Christian

I have the same issue and I believe, although I'm not sure, that the reason is that Windows 7 per default does not allow WebDAV connections (which this basically is) over http.
This could be overridden by changing a registry key. It's located in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\WebClient\Parameters and it's named BasicAuthLevel. The default value is 1, but you could set it to 2 to allow WebDAV access via http.
However, I've tried this and I still can't open files via SPP but it at least solves the problem with the invalid adress error. I might have some other underlying error that you don't have, so it might be worth to give this a try.
