We have installed Share on Linux, we have setup Apache Reverse Proxy with Self Signed Certificate and run into a couple of problems:

1.  We can't connect using Webdav, error says the folder is unavailable (my connection is as follows:  https://myserver/alfresco/)
2.  We can't upload files using Firefox 3 through the web client in Share.  I can upload files on the Alfresco side using Firefox as well as upload files using IE for both Share and Alfresco.

I suspect we have a configuration error but I'm not sure where to look as sys-admin is not my area of expertise.  Any insight into this would be helpful?

Here's an odd thing. If I open the document library page in Firefox 3.07, the content that handles the document functions is not visible or grayed out. But, if I open FireBug and just click on the <div> tag of any part of the hidden content and refresh the page, it's all there.  :?: I don't even have to alter anything in firebug.

What other add-ons have you got installed? AdBlock Plus by any chance?

I do have adblock but it's disabled for the entire domain. I disabled it entirely and restarted, but that didn't make any difference.

As long as firebug is open (I detached it and minimized it), the DocLib works just fine. The rest of my extensions are:

I'm not sure what to suggest. We're using Firefox 3.0.7 here on both Windows and OS X and not seeing this issue…

I am using firefox 3.0.8, flash 10,0,22,87 and opensuse 11.1. 
The issue is present in this environment

Ran across this thread and thought I'd throw in my two cents. Granted it's not exactly the same issue, and I have nothing to do with Alfresco. However, I manage a PC and Mac (all OS X 10.4) environment and have found that Firefox 3.0.8 on OS X will not support a file upload control within an ASP. NET page that we use on an internal webform. Firefox 3.0.8 for PC works fine, as does Firefox 3.0.6 on OS X (don't have 3.0.7 to test with). Also, file upload did not work in Safari until it was upgraded to 3.2.1 from an earlier version of 3.0. The .NET file upload control has nothing to do with Flash, unless Firefox and Safari both are using Flash to display the file upload box. Anyway, maybe it's helpful, maybe it's not, but I wanted to let you know that you're not the only one having issues with file upload in Firefox 3.0.8, but dersteppenwolf may not be having the problem because of the version. This may go deeper into the changes made between 3.0.7 and 3.0.8 for OS X. I've looked through the Firefox Bugzilla bug reports and found many with similar issues, but nothing exactly the same as I'm seeing. I'm also not even trying to upload anything. The users are using the file upload control to browse to a file, and then the web form uses that information to pull in the filename for tracking purposes.

Here is a minor modification to what was already suggested so that only FireFox users are presented with the html file upload (file-upload.js):

Interesting, but better to use YUI's browser detection instead:
