Only 1st page can be previewed in Alfresco Share

Sometimes I found that only one page (1st page) can be previewed in Alfresco share, and generally it's a doc or docx file.

It's a bug of the system or something else wrong?

It most likely means the transformation did no go ok. It would be nice if you could create an issue with concrete documents, so someone can take a closer look.

Like Lista said, most likely transformation did not work that's because there are some limitations set on the preview(or transformation) of a document.

One of the limits is the size of the document. The limit on the file size varies for different mimetypes. OOTB file size limit for pdf files is 2.0 MB but that may be different if you are using an earlier version.

Others limits are total no. of pages and/or richness of the document.
The transformation might also fail if it takes too much time resulting in only 1 page preview or no preview at all.

Similarly, doc and docx files should have 2.0MB and 1.0MB transformation limits respectively.
